A little bit about me

I’m a Houston based Researcher + Strategist.

Fire + improv

Before my “real” career began, I worked at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry as an intern. I taught guests of all ages topics from chemistry to the digestive system. More importantly I learned the applicability of improv to everyday communications.

Check out my talk on Improv Everyday.

Computers + space

After finishing up a degree in Computer Engineering I began my career at NASA’s Johnson Space Center researching and developing IT technologies for Mission Control. I was proud to support NASA’s mission of human space exploration, unfortunately my work in IT was missing a level of creativity that I yearned for.

Study + study some more

While working at NASA, I pursued my Master’s degree in Human Computer Interaction. This is where I put together my love for creativity, people, and technology.

Design + data

After completing my master’s degree, I finally made my way to ExxonMobil doing my dream work as a Designer and Strategist. It was here I expanded my love for presenting into design thinking facilitation, and my love for data into data visualization.

Research + design ops

These days, I’m working remotely as a Staff UX Research Strategist. I help government software teams learn the value of human-centered design and how they can shift their mindset and incorporate it into their processes.

When I’m not working…

I’m probably running, solving a puzzle, volunteering, or hanging out with my family.
